McKenzie River

The favorite fishery of many Deep Canyon Outfitter guides, the McKenzie river originates high in the Cascade Mountains and travels 85 miles to its confluence with the Willamette. It flows through sharp rock and dense Douglas Fir forests creating a unique rainbow trout fishery.

Rich in both fly fishing and white water boating history, the McKenzie is a great choice of beginner and novice anglers. The sections of the river where our guides focus their fishing efforts are routinely stocked with rainbow trout throughout the spring, summer, and fall to supplement the beautiful native Redbands. You will be floating the river in McKenzie style drift boats, specifically design for fishing white water. A crowd favorite and highlight of this river trip, is the shore lunch. Your guide will prepare your catch for lunch in the traditional McKenzie river style.

We offer only Full Day Trips on the McKenzie River.
